Went to Oxford on Thursday. Went to the Asia Cafe again. Had roast duck with rice. Very, very good, especially for the price. Came in a small but deep bowl which kept the rice hot. Was accompanied by dark green leaves which were not at all bitter. Plenty of meat on the duck. For dessert I had French Toast which was a peanut butter sandwich dipped in a mixture of beaten egg and milk and then fried. Served with a pat of butter and a jug of golden syrup. Yum!
Went to the covered market and headed for Ben's Cookies. I was afraid I'd be too late and that they'd be shut or sold out. Relieved to see they were open but the man was cleaning the counter. Asked him if he had any double chocolate chip cookies left - he had, but only one. Not much else left. I bought the double chocolate chip and a peanut butter and a ginger chocolate chip. The two latter were put in a bag together and when I felt them they were cold. Felt in the double chocolate chip bag and joy of joys it was still warm! Started eating it immediately. Chocolate heaven. Hugh chunks of melting chocolate. Probably the best cookies in the world! Shared the ginger chocolate chip with Mum this evening. Better than sex! Can't wait to go back to Oxford to get some more. Glad they didn't have three double chocolate chip or I wouldn't have discovered the ginger ones- crystallized ginger and chocolate chunks. Mmmmmmm!
